The violent event transpired on Sunday afternoon, October 12th, along Jalan Koramil, Gang Kenangan, in the Rawa Badak Selatan subdistrict.
The victim, 28-year-old Heru Noviyana, recounted his ordeal in a social media post, explaining that he had received an order for noodles and seafood. However, the address provided in the application proved confusing and difficult to pinpoint. Upon reaching what he believed to be the designated location, a woman, presumed to be the customer, informed him that it was not her residence and instructed him to wait. Heru’s attempts to contact both the customer and the customer service line for clarification yielded no clear response, leaving him in a precarious situation.
Tensions escalated dramatically when the woman emerged from the house, verbally accosting Heru. Moments later, a man, identified as her husband, arrived at the scene and allegedly delivered a powerful punch to the victim’s jaw, knocking him to the ground. Disturbingly, several other individuals then reportedly joined in the assault, further beating Heru. “The man suddenly came and punched my jaw so hard that it was incredibly painful, even causing my motorcycle to fall,” Heru wrote in his viral post, which was accompanied by a photograph of his swollen and injured face.
Kompol Onkoseno, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the North Jakarta Metro Police, confirmed that authorities swiftly responded to the incident. “Upon receiving a public report about the disturbance, our team immediately moved to the location, secured the perpetrator, and transported the victim to the hospital for a medical examination (visum),” Onkoseno stated, highlighting the police’s rapid intervention.
Perpetrators Apprehended
The primary suspect, identified as RLL (36), a resident of Rawa Badak Selatan, Koja, North Jakarta, has since been taken into custody. In addition to the main assailant, police have also secured five witnesses: A (36), FPM (23), SL (35), RWL (25), and AVH (21), all of whom are suspected of involvement in the coordinated attack. From the crime scene, officers confiscated crucial evidence, including one mobile phone and the results of the victim’s medical examination.
Kompol Onkoseno affirmed the police’s commitment to handling the case with utmost professionalism and transparency. He emphasized that acts of vigilantism are strictly prohibited and will be dealt with severely in accordance with applicable law.
