Dirtek dan Ketum Siapkan Kandidat Pelatih Timnas, Diputuskan Dalam Rapat Exco

PSSI Exco member Arya Sinulingga has confirmed that no internal federation meeting has yet been held to discuss the appointment of a new coach for the Indonesian National Team. He firmly stated that the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) will select a coach based on collaborative discussions between the National Team’s Technical Director, Alexander Zwiers, and the Chairman, Erick Thohir.

The quest for a new head coach for the Indonesian National Team, affectionately known as ‘Garuda’, has become a fervent topic among football enthusiasts across the nation. This urgency is particularly heightened following the reported dismissal of Patrick Kluivert, leaving the ‘Garuda’ squad currently without a head coach.

During a recent press conference, Chairman Erick Thohir remained tight-lipped about specific candidates for the ‘Garuda’ squad’s top coaching position. He limited his statement to explaining that the Technical Director and his team are actively engaged in identifying the most suitable coach to lead the Indonesian National Team forward.

This approach aligns perfectly with Arya Sinulingga’s remarks. He reiterated that, as of now, no official meeting has been convened to deliberate on the Timnas Indonesia coach. Furthermore, Arya clarified that Erick Thohir and Alexander Zwiers are scheduled to hold preliminary discussions, the outcome of which will then be presented for consideration at an Exco (Executive Committee) meeting.

‎”As of today, there has been no Exco meeting regarding the coach. So, if there are rumors suggesting certain Exco members agree, and others disagree, that is simply untrue. There hasn’t even been a meeting, for one,” Arya Sinulingga asserted at Cibis, Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 28.

He continued, “Secondly, the Chairman (Erick Thohir) already spoke with the Technical Director (Alexander Zwiers) yesterday. They are currently seeking and compiling a list of potential coaches, which will then be brought to an Exco meeting. It is there that the final decision will be made,” Arya emphasized, highlighting the structured selection process.

Arya further elaborated that Erick Thohir is awaiting the comprehensive list of candidates from the Technical Director before formally proposing them to the Exco meeting. He assured that Thohir, who also serves as the Minister of Youth and Sports, would not make any unilateral decisions in the crucial appointment of the new coach.

“So, if anyone suggests this will be a personal decision made by the Chairman, that’s incorrect because there hasn’t been a meeting yet. The prospective coaches must all be thoroughly vetted and compiled. Only then will the Exco convene, and the result of their decision will become known. For now, no such meeting has taken place,” he concluded, reinforcing the PSSI’s commitment to a collective decision-making process.
