A fatal stabbing incident rocked the Condet area of East Jakarta on Monday, November 17, claiming the life of one individual and leaving another seriously injured. The tragic event resulted in the death of 19-year-old MN, while another 19-year-old victim, identified by the initials MH, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at Kramat Jati Police Hospital.
Confirming the details of the attack, AKBP Dicky, Head of the East Jakarta Criminal Investigation Unit, stated on Tuesday, November 18, “Yes, that’s correct. There are two victims; one suffered injuries and is being handled by the Kramat Jati Police Precinct.”
Authorities were alerted to the incident around 6:30 PM WIB, as reported by Kramat Jati Police Chief AKP Pesta Siahaan. Upon their swift arrival at the scene, specifically on Jalan Raya Condet, officers discovered one person lying incapacitated on the ground.
The alleged perpetrator, identified by the initial R (20), was apprehended immediately at the crime scene. “The suspect was secured at the location and promptly taken to the police station for an official interrogation report,” Siahaan elaborated.
Triggered by Jealousy
The investigation into the Condet stabbing revealed that the violent encounter stemmed from a personal dispute between the assailant and victim MH. According to AKBP Dicky, “This issue was fueled by jealousy concerning a friendship involving their mutual female friends.”
Prior to the fatal confrontation, MH, accompanied by his friend MN, had reportedly gone to the perpetrator’s boarding house with the intention of resolving the simmering conflict. However, the perpetrator was not present at the time.
Ultimately, a fateful encounter occurred as the two victims were returning home. They came across the perpetrator near the crime scene, and tensions quickly escalated into a heated argument. Dicky further detailed, “While on their way back, the two met the perpetrator near the crime scene, and a quarrel ensued.”
This altercation tragically turned deadly when the suspect produced a dagger that he had allegedly prepared in advance. He then proceeded to attack both victims consecutively, leading to the fatal injuries and the subsequent hospitalization of MH.
