According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), PT Paramita Bangun Sarana Tbk. (PBSA) led the downturn throughout the week, seeing its share price plummet by 26.09%, or 300 points, to close at Rp850 per share. Following closely was PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk. (ELPI), which experienced a sharp drop of 24.45%, or 465 points, settling at Rp1,445 per share.

Taking the third spot among the week’s most significant decliners was nickel producer PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. (INCO), whose shares corrected by 20.80% to Rp5,425 per share. This was closely trailed by SDMU stock, which weakened by 20.63% to reach Rp100 per share.

Continuing the trend, TOOL shares underwent a correction of 19.00%, closing at Rp81 per share. ASLI followed suit, with its stock price dropping by 18.92% to Rp300 per share.

Rounding out the list of the week’s top losing stocks were DSSA, which fell by 18.89%; AADI, seeing an 18.75% weakening; ASDM, correcting by 18.70%; and finally, LCKM, whose shares declined by 18.66% to Rp109 per share.

In stark contrast to the individual stock declines, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) managed to close the trading week, from May 4 to 8, 2026, in positive territory, recording a modest gain of 0.18% to reach 6,969.39. This resilience was further underscored by a rise in the IDX’s average daily transaction value (ADTV), which climbed to Rp23.06 trillion.

Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), confirmed that the IHSG concluded the week showing a 0.18% strengthening, moving from 6,956.80 in the prior week to 6,969.39.

Moreover, the overall market capitalization of the IDX also experienced an uptick, increasing by 0.19% to Rp12,406 trillion, up from Rp12,382 trillion recorded in the preceding week.

Meanwhile, the IDX’s average daily transaction volume witnessed a substantial surge of 23.57%, escalating to 45.86 billion shares from 37.11 billion shares at the close of the previous week. This robust activity was mirrored by a strengthening in the average daily transaction value.

“The average daily transaction value also rose significantly by 26.14%, reaching Rp23.06 trillion, compared to Rp18.27 trillion in the week prior,” Kautsar stated, as quoted on Saturday (May 9, 2026).

Concluding the week, on Friday (May 8, 2026), foreign investors registered a net buy of Rp11.42 trillion. However, looking at the broader picture for 2025 year-to-date, foreign investors recorded a cumulative net sell of Rp37.61 trillion.
