This week’s positive movement in the IHSG actively propelled the IDX’s stock market capitalization higher compared to the previous week. The market capitalization for the IDX reached an impressive Rp12,406 trillion this week, marking a slight but significant rise of 0.19 percent from Rp12,382 trillion recorded last week.
The most substantial growth was observed in the average daily transaction volume on the IDX this week, which surged by 23.57 percent to reach 45.86 billion shares, a considerable jump from 37.11 billion shares in the preceding week. Furthermore, the average daily transaction value also experienced a robust increase of 26.14 percent, climbing to Rp23.06 trillion from Rp18.27 trillion last week. Complementing these figures, the average daily transaction frequency rose by 9 percent, totaling 2.55 million transactions compared to 2.34 million transactions previously.
Regarding foreign investor activity, a net buy of Rp11.42 trillion was recorded on Friday (May 8). However, looking at the year-to-date performance, foreign investors have recorded a net sell of Rp37.61 trillion. This figure, while still a net sell, represents a reduction from the Rp49.87 trillion net sell recorded just last week, indicating a slight shift in sentiment.
