Aipda Muhammad Taufik Rahadian, Head of the Law Enforcement Unit for the Probolinggo City Traffic Police, reported that the Innova was traveling from Probolinggo toward Pasuruan in the right lane. As the vehicle approached the scene, it encountered a dump truck moving in the same direction. According to the investigation, the driver, Mahrus Ali, appeared to lose concentration, causing the car to veer left and strike the rear right corner of the truck’s cargo bed.

Tragically, the accident resulted in the deaths of two passengers: Alex Anwaruh (25) and Adinda Najwa (25), both of whom were staff members accompanying Gus Hilman. While Gus Hilman and his driver survived the crash with injuries, they required immediate medical attention. Gus Hilman is currently receiving treatment at RSUD dr. Soetomo in Surabaya.

The incident occurred as the group was returning from an official DPR RI seminar and roadshow held at Nurul Jadid University in Probolinggo. The tragedy has drawn attention to the safety of the delegation as they carried out their legislative duties.

Providing an update on the condition of his colleague, Deputy Chairman of Commission X, Lalu Hadrian, confirmed that Gus Hilman is in stable condition. Although he sustained injuries, medical reports suggest they are not life-threatening. “Mas Hilman is currently stable,” Lalu stated when reached by media on Sunday (May 24). “We hope for his swift and complete recovery.”
