This crucial resolution followed an intensive series of working meetings, which commenced on Monday, October 27, between Commission VIII and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The final consensus was reached during the Hajj 2026 Working Committee (Panja) meeting held on Tuesday evening, October 28, paving the way for the official announcement.

During a working meeting at the DPR RI building in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, October 29, Marwan Dasopang, Chairman of DPR RI Commission VIII, formally announced the agreed figures. “The DPR RI Commission VIII and the Minister of Hajj and Umrah have agreed that the average BPIH for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE pilgrimage season for regular pilgrims will be Rp 87,409,365.50,” he stated.

Highlighting a positive development for pilgrims, Marwan further added, “This figure represents a notable decrease of Rp 2,893,000 compared to the BPIH for 1446 Hijriah/2025 CE, which stood at Rp 89,410,258.70 per pilgrim.” This reduction offers a more accessible pathway for those embarking on the sacred journey.

Marwan then elaborated on the funding mechanism, explaining how a substantial portion of the total cost would be borne by the Hajj Management Fund. “Out of this total amount, approximately Rp 33.2 million will be covered by the value benefits of the Hajj financial management fund,” he clarified.

Detailing this contribution, Marwan explained, “The average cost per pilgrim sourced from the value benefits of Hajj financial management is Rp 33,215,558.87, accounting for 38 percent of the average BPIH for 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE. These funds are specifically allocated to cover the operational costs of Hajj in both Saudi Arabia and domestically within Indonesia.” This strategic allocation ensures smooth pilgrimage operations.

Furthermore, Marwan noted a significant reduction in the total fund utilized. “Consequently, the total value benefits employed for the BPIH 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE amount to Rp 6,695,758,435,018.67. This marks a decrease of Rp 136,062,321,639.67 from the total value benefits utilized for the BPIH 1446 Hijriah/2025 CE, which was Rp 6,831,820,756,658.34,” he added, indicating improved financial efficiency.

Turning to the direct financial responsibility of the pilgrims, the Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih) for 2026, which pilgrims must pay themselves, have been set at Rp 54.1 million per pilgrim. This figure represents the direct expenses borne by individuals undertaking the pilgrimage.

Marwan provided a comprehensive breakdown of what these direct costs cover. “The average Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih), directly borne by pilgrims, amount to Rp 54,193,806.58 per pilgrim. This constitutes 62 percent of the total BPIH and is allocated for essential services including flight expenses, a portion of accommodation costs in Makkah, a portion of accommodation costs in Madinah, and daily living costs,” he elaborated.

In another piece of good news for pilgrims, Marwan confirmed a reduction in these direct expenses. “The Bipih for 2026 has also decreased by Rp 1,237,944.20 compared to the 2025 figure of Rp 55,431,750.78,” he stated, further easing the financial burden on pilgrims.

The formalization of these figures received unanimous approval from DPR RI Commission VIII. Marwan initiated the final step by asking, “The time has come for us to make a decision. Can we now formalize the working committee’s resolution?”

“Yes, agreed!” responded all attending members of the commission, signaling their full support.

With a single gavel strike, Marwan officially endorsed the BPIH 2026, thereby validating the established costs and opening the path for Indonesian pilgrims to prepare for their sacred journey with clear financial guidelines.
