IDX Weekly Gain: Market Capitalization Reaches $930 Billion

Jakarta, IDN Times – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite Index (IHSG) saw a slight strengthening this week compared to the previous week, mirroring an increase in market capitalization.

Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the IDX, stated that stock trading data on the IDX for the period of September 1st to 4th, 2025, closed with mixed results.

“The IHSG experienced a weekly increase, closing at a level of 7,867.348,” he said in a statement released Saturday (September 6, 2025).

Market Capitalization Increases

The IHSG strengthened by 0.47 percent this week over the four trading days, compared to the previous week’s close of 7,830.493.

Accompanying the IHSG’s rise, market capitalization also climbed to Rp14,211 trillion, up from Rp14,182 trillion the previous week.

Average Daily Transaction Value Drops Significantly

However, the largest decline occurred in the average daily transaction value on the IDX, plummeting by 28.43 percent to Rp18.05 trillion from Rp25.22 trillion the prior week.

The average daily trading volume also decreased this week by 21.09 percent to 37.24 billion shares, down from 47.19 billion shares the week before. Similarly, the average daily transaction frequency fell by 9.88 percent to 2.08 million transactions from 2.31 million transactions last week.

Foreign Investors Record Net Sales of Rp55.13 Trillion

Meanwhile, foreign investors recorded a net selling value of Rp305.18 trillion on Thursday (September 4th). Trading activity was limited to four days this week due to the Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW religious holiday on Friday (September 5th).

Year-to-date, foreign investors have recorded a net selling value of Rp55.13 trillion, an increase from Rp50.95 trillion last week.
