Kaauatsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), confirmed that stock trading data on the BEI for the period of May 11–13, 2026, closed in negative territory. “The IHSG saw a weekly movement change of 3.53 percent, closing at 6,723.320, down from its position of 6,936.396 last week,” he stated in an official release on Thursday (May 14, 2026).

Market Capitalization Shrinks

The week-long correction of the IHSG directly led to a notable reduction in stock market capitalization on the BEI compared to the previous week. The recorded market capitalization of the BEI decreased to Rp11.825 trillion. This figure represents a 4.68 percent contraction from the previous week’s Rp12.406 trillion, underscoring the market’s vulnerability.

Sharpest Drop Seen in Average Daily Transaction Volume

The most substantial decline was observed in the BEI’s average daily transaction volume this week. It plummeted by 22.01 percent, settling at 35.76 billion shares, a significant drop from 45.86 billion shares in the preceding week. Concurrently, the average daily transaction frequency also saw a slight decrease of 0.56 percent, moving from 2.55 million transactions last week to 2.53 million this week. Furthermore, the average daily transaction value corrected by 18.78 percent, falling to Rp18.82 trillion from Rp23.05 trillion in the prior week, indicating a broad-based reduction in trading activity.

Foreign Investors Record Net Sell of Rp40.8 Trillion

Adding to the market’s woes, foreign investors registered a net sell of Rp1.53 trillion on Wednesday (May 13). On a year-to-date basis, the cumulative net sell by foreign investors reached Rp40.82 trillion. This figure escalated from Rp37.61 trillion recorded last week, highlighting a persistent trend of capital outflow from the Indonesian equity market.
