IHSG sepekan turun hampir 1 persen, kapitalisasi pasar Rp 12.305 T

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) reported a downturn in the performance of its Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) during the trading week spanning March 30 to April 2, 2026. The IHSG closed the week at 7,026.782, marking a 0.99 percent decline from the previous week’s closing position of 7,097.057.

This broader market weakness was also reflected in the BEI’s market capitalization, which, according to Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the BEI, fell by 1.69 percent. It decreased to IDR 12,305 trillion from IDR 12,516 trillion recorded in the preceding week, indicating a significant contraction in overall market value.

In contrast to the declining index and market capitalization, the average daily transaction frequency on the exchange actually saw an uptick. Kautsar stated on Saturday (April 4) that this metric increased by 3.08 percent, reaching 1.78 million transactions, up from 1.73 million transactions the week prior. This suggests that while market values were pressured, investor activity in terms of frequency remained robust.

However, the average daily transaction value mirrored the broader market’s negative trend, experiencing a substantial drop of 36.69 percent. It decreased to IDR 14.77 trillion from a more robust IDR 23.33 trillion in the previous week, highlighting a significant reduction in the monetary volume of trades.

Furthermore, the average daily transaction volume on the BEI also saw a decrease. Kautsar continued by noting a fall of 8.62 percent, with 25.87 billion shares traded daily, down from 28.31 billion shares in the previous week. This indicates fewer shares changing hands, contributing to the overall decline in market value.

Adding to the downward pressure, foreign investors recorded significant net selling. As of Thursday’s close (April 2), foreign investors posted a net sell value of IDR 813.51 billion. Cumulatively for the year 2026, foreign investors have registered a substantial net selling position amounting to IDR 33.83 trillion, underscoring their cautious stance on the Indonesian market.
