Pejabat Senior Dibunuh Saat Sedang Tahajud, Hamas: Aksi Pengecut Zionis

GAZA – In a significant escalation of violence, Salah al-Bardawil, a prominent Hamas leader and Palestinian parliament member, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the western Khan Younis area of the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, March 22, 2025. Hamas confirmed his death in a statement issued on Sunday, March 23, 2025, detailing that Bardawil, a respected member of Hamas’ political bureau and a representative in the Palestinian Legislative Council, perished in a “targeted attack while performing evening prayers in his tent in the Al-Mawasi area.”

Tragically, al-Bardawil’s wife was also among the victims who lost their lives in the same devastating assault. This particular airstrike forms part of an intensified series of Israeli military operations that have surged across Gaza in recent days, contributing to a worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.

Hamas vehemently condemned the attack, labeling it a “cowardly Zionist act” and accusing Israel of “committing war crimes in a systematic massacre campaign” against the Palestinian people in Gaza. The latest surge in violence has been particularly deadly; since last Tuesday, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,000 injured in an abrupt Israeli aerial campaign. This recent offensive has effectively shattered a fragile ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January, deepening the conflict.

The toll of the conflict has been staggering. Since October 2023, Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of over 50,000 Palestinians, a majority of whom are women and children. Furthermore, more than 113,000 individuals have sustained injuries in these brutal attacks, highlighting the widespread human suffering endured across the region.

The international community has taken note of the severe situation, with significant legal developments. Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense chief Yoav Gallant, citing allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza. Concurrently, Israel is also facing charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its military actions in the territory, underscoring the profound legal and ethical challenges surrounding the ongoing conflict.
