President Prabowo Subianto is reportedly preparing to conduct a cabinet reshuffle in the coming days. According to current reports, the reorganization is scheduled to begin this Monday, April 27, and will be carried out in several phases.
Information gathered by Katadata from various sources and government officials over the weekend indicates that the President intends to replace several key figures, ranging from heads of agencies to cabinet ministers and coordinating ministers.
A Phased Reorganization
“The reshuffle will be conducted in stages, beginning with agency heads. The announcement is highly likely to be made this Monday,” a source stated.
According to the information obtained, several leadership positions within government agencies are expected to change, including the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), and the National Quarantine Agency. Muhammad Qodari, the current Chief of the Presidential Staff, is expected to transition into the role of Presidential Spokesperson while simultaneously leading the Bakom agency.
Meanwhile, the position of Chief of the Presidential Staff is slated to be filled by retired General Dudung Abdurachman, who currently serves as the Special Advisor to the President for National Defense. Additionally, the National Quarantine Agency is expected to be led by Abdul Kadir Karding, a PKB politician who previously served as the Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) from 2024 to 2025.
Furthermore, the former head of the President’s Communication Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi, is expected to take on a new role as the Presidential Special Envoy for Communication.
Official Confirmation Pending
When approached for comment, Hasan Nasbi indicated that he could not confirm the rumors. “I am unable to provide confirmation at this time. We should simply wait for the official announcement,” he told Katadata on Sunday, April 26.
Katadata also attempted to reach the current KSP head, Qodari, for verification. However, no response had been received at the time of publication.
In addition to these agency leadership changes, rumors suggest that President Prabowo will also reshuffle several ministerial positions. Reports indicate that potential changes may include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Tourism, and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (PMK). “However, regarding the ministers and coordinating ministers, the President will announce these adjustments in later stages,” the source added.
