President Prabowo Returns Home Following Australia Visit: Key Highlights

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, departed Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday evening (November 12th) to return to his homeland.

According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat’s Bureau of Press, Media, and Information, the Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft took off from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport at 9:45 PM local time.

President Prabowo’s departure was seen off at the foot of the aircraft by several dignitaries, including Australian Minister for Small Business, Anne Aly; Honourary Aide-de-Camp Brigadier Phil Bridie; Commonwealth Chief of Protocol Arthur Spyrou; and Deputy Secretary International and Security, Kendra Morony.

Also present were the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Rod Brazier, and the Deputy Chief of Protocol for New South Wales, Premier’s Department, Karina Cameron. On the Indonesian side, the President was seen off by the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia, Siswo Pramono, and the Indonesian Defense Attaché in Canberra, Rear Admiral Yusliandi Ginting.

During his visit to Sydney, President Prabowo engaged in a series of important meetings and activities. These included a tete-a-tete with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at Kirribilli House, a state welcoming ceremony hosted by Governor-General Sam Mostyn at Admiralty House, and a meeting with former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating. He also conducted a joint press briefing with Prime Minister Albanese aboard the HMAS Canberra at Garden Island Naval Base and attended a private dinner with the Prime Minister.

During the press conference held on HMAS Canberra, Prabowo emphasized that positive relations between neighboring countries are the cornerstone of shared stability and security.

Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight back to Indonesia were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
