The sanctions were formalized through University of Indonesia Rector Decrees numbered 504/SK/R/UI/2026 to 519/SK/R/UI/2026. This decision serves as a direct follow-up to the findings and recommendations provided by the UI Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPK) and an expert team established under Rector Decree 360/SK/R/UI/2026.

The breakdown of the disciplinary sanctions is as follows:

  • Suspension of academic activities for 3 semesters: 3 individuals
  • Suspension of academic activities for 2 semesters: 7 individuals
  • Suspension of academic activities for 1 semester: 4 individuals
  • Minor administrative sanctions: 1 individual
  • Cleared of allegations: 1 individual

Erwin Agustian Panigoro, the Director of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Affairs at UI, stated on Tuesday (June 2) that the university handles every report of violence with the utmost seriousness, fairness, and a commitment to supporting the victims. He emphasized that the penalties were proportionate to the proven violations, based on the rigorous investigations conducted by the Satgas PPK and the expert panel.

UI asserts that its rules regarding sexual violence are enforced consistently across the board, regardless of the status, position, faculty, or background of those involved. According to Panigoro, every report undergoes a transparent and objective vetting process to ensure all institutional decisions remain fully accountable.

“Since receiving the initial reports, the UI Satgas PPK has carried out a comprehensive handling procedure. This includes report verification, interviews with victims, witnesses, and the accused, as well as the collection and analysis of evidence. These steps, combined with internal deliberations to formulate recommendations, provide the foundation for the university leadership’s final decision,” Panigoro explained.

Beyond these disciplinary measures, the University of Indonesia remains dedicated to supporting and protecting victims throughout and after the investigation process. The university is actively ensuring that victims have access to recovery services and that their academic rights are fully upheld. Furthermore, UI is reinforcing its campus-wide prevention strategies to ensure that all members of the university community can work and study in a secure, violence-free environment.

“The resolution of this case is not the end of our efforts, but a continuation of UI’s commitment to fostering a safe campus culture. Our primary focus remains on victim recovery and the proactive prevention of future incidents to ensure every member of the UI community is protected,” he concluded.
